80G Registration


An 80G registration is issued by the income Tax Department to the Non Profit Organizations .The main purpose of the certification is to encourage donors to make contributions towards the NGO’S .The donors gets a tax exemption of up to 50% of the donation and shall be deducted from their Gross total Income .A stamped receipt mentioning the name, date and PAN of the organization must be attached to avail the tax exemption.

Documents required for 80G Registration 

  • A duly filled in Form 10G
  • Registration certificate of the NGO
  • NOC from the landlord (where the registered office is situated)
  • Copy of PAN card of the NGO,
  • Address Proof, as in the Utility Bills - copy of Electricity Bill/House tax Receipt/Water Bill
  • Three year Bank Statement
  • Detail of the governing bodies of the organization 
  • Required declaration by authorized persons 

Certification under Section 80G

On receipt of the application, the Tax Commissioner will scrutinize the details. He may ask for some additional documents or information. Once satisfied, he may pass an order in writing registering the Trust/Institution under Section 80G of Income Tax Act. If not, he may reject the application.
